Purna Chandra Chandra, the man with an unerring business instinct, founded the P. C. Chandra Group.  This venture was a resounding success and P. C. Chandra Jewellers have since been a name to reckon with.

The mantle of the  founding spirit was passed on to his eldest son, Jawaharlal Chandra, who still remains at the helm of the Group as its Chairman.  Over the years, it's adherence to the founding father’s lofty principles that has enabled the P. C. Chandra Group to fulfill a vision more than sixty years.

Chandra Jewellers, a jewellery concern, is truly proud of its sparkling heritage.  Its creations are an expression of exquisite Indian craftsmanship.  Its experts’ sense of design and perfectionism have been accorded a glittering reception in countries far and wide, earning valuable foreign exchange for the country.  With luxurious showrooms at Bowbazar, Gariahat, Chowringhee, Ultadanga & Golpark in Kolkata and exclusive
showrooms at Siliguri, Malda, Bardhaman and Asansol, P. C. Chandra Jewellers now serve a wide clientele at home and abroad.

A corporate group company of P.C. Chandra Jewellers that deal with the export of P.C. Chandra products and continuously carries out with R&T in developing jewwllery.

SETTING NEW STANDARDS

Chandras’ Chemical Industries (1973) Pvt. Ltd.

In 1973, the P. C. Chandra Group further diversified and the Chandras’ Chemical Industries came into being.  Incorporating the state-of-the-art technology and equipment, the Company’s polymerization plant, the only one of its kind in Eastern India, manufacturers Homopolymer  and Copolymer Emulsions. The extensive range of products used in the packaging and allied industries are marketed under the brand name ‘VINICRYL’.

SHAPING THE FUTURE

EMCO General Plastic Industries Pvt. Ltd.

Another integral member of the P. C. Chandra Group is EMCO General Plastic Industries (P) Ltd.  Engaged in the manufacture of high density polythene pipes for both home and industries, conforming to national  and international standard. EMCO is also the distributing agent for GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited).

Apart from undertaking turnkey installations of large scale plastic pipelines for industries, plantations and residential complexes, the EMCO General Plastic Industries also manufacture various speciality resins, sanitary fittings and waterproof chemicals. 

NEW HORIZONS

Rubber Plantation

The Group has set up rubber plantations in Agartala, Tripura and has plans to expand its activities in the field.

Software Divisions

CCE Software, a 100% export-oriented unit, has been set up in Bangalore to develop software exclusively for exports.  It has access to most modern hardware and intensive communication network. CCE Software Inc., a fully owned subsidiary has been formed in USA to handle both offshore and onshore software projects.

Recently, the group has tied up with a leading European Software Company and set up a joint venture in India under the name and style of CIME-CCE Software Pvt. Ltd.

Construction and Housing

In keeping with the present policies and trend the Group has built a base in the housing and construction sector.

Hotels

Executive Towers
a centrally located hotel for business travelers is run by the Group’s Hotel Division.  It offers excellent facilities for conferences, meetings and banquets.  It is the Group’s first step towards a full fledged Hotel Division.

The Senator
Another starred hotel launched by P.C. Chandra Group in the heart of 'City Of Joy' Kolkata at 15 Camac Street, Kolkata - 700 017 inaugurated by Sri Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Chief Minister of West Bengal in presence of Sri Subroto Mukherjee, Mayor of Kolkata and P.C. Chandra Group Chairman Sri BK Chandra, on 16th October, 2004.

Community Service

Looking beyond business interests the P C Chandra Group has long  been  fulfilling its duties as a responsible corporate citizen of the country.  Sponsoring community service projects to help medical and educational institutions such as the Medical Centre at Suri, Birbhum; Speech and Hearing Institute, Kolkata.  Participating in programmes to beautify Kolkata, the  ‘City of Joy’.

It has also been promoting diverse cultural activities and holding events like the  Dover Lane Music Conference and the Dover Lane Talent Contest. Other milestones have been sponsoring of the Journalism Congress and the National Integration Congress as well as awards for excellence in Journalism, Literature and Classical Music. 

P.C. Chandra Puroskar

P.C. Chandra Puroskar has been instituted for honouring the legends in various spheres for their life time achievement. Every year, the award is given away to to a distinguisged Indian personality on the birthday of the founder of P.C. Chandra Group, Late Purna Chandra Chandra on his birthday on 21st April. The first  P. C. Chandra Puroskar was given to Shri Manna Dey for his invaluable contribution to music.  Dr. U.R.Rao, the then Chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) received Puroskar in 1994 for his achievements in space research. P.C. Chandra Puroskar 2008 has been given to Mrinal Sen, the veteran Film Director, in a function on 02 May 2008,  for his life time achievement in creative Film direction.  The awardees of P.C. Chandra Puroskar are as below:
